Well, that time of year has struck again.
Yep, It's playoff time. And for the second time, first being in 2009, in 5 years, the Caps and the Rangers will battle it out in round 1 of the playoffs, obviously with hopes of making it through all the rounds and winning every hockey player's dream (A.K.A The Stanley Cup). And it all. Starts. Here.
A win this round would be nice for the avenging Rangers. Especially with a loss during their last playoff meet-up. But, keep in mind, they have also won 4 Stanley Cups. As opposed to the Capitals, who haven't won any Stanley Cups in all of their franchise's history.
An Advantage to the Capitals this round is the fact that they clinched the conference, meaning that they finished first in the Eastern Conference, while the Rangers just made the playoffs, finishing the season in 8th place in the conference. But then again, the Rangers could surprise us all and become the underdogs of the first round. I guess we'll never know until it happens.
In conclusion of the first post of the postseason, I would obviously like to wish good luck on both teams. And may the spirit and the adrenaline of the season be with you.
